Exterior Painting & Decorating

Exterior work lives or dies on preparation. We start with a proper wash, hot pressure where the surface takes it, to strip off salt, algae and flaking material. Timber gets scraped back, sanded and primed. Render is patch-repaired and stabilised before a mist coat goes on.

For masonry and render we favour breathable, weatherproof coatings that let moisture out of the wall rather than trapping it in. On coastal-facing elevations that's not optional, the wrong paint will blister inside a season.

Sash windows, doors, fascias, soffits and railings all get the same treatment: cut back, primed, undercoated and finished with two coats of a durable exterior eggshell or gloss. We use micro-porous systems on old timber where movement is a concern.

Weather is the wild card. We plan around forecasts and won't paint into damp or driving rain, it's the fastest way to ruin a good prep job. We'll always be straight with you about scheduling.
